Maggie will have a splint

My Golden is scheduled to have a fatty tumor taken off the top of her hind leg. It isn't at the joint, but she will have a splint for several weeks. I have no idea how we're going to handle the recoup time. My bedroom and office are on the second floor. I can't imagine what she will do if I have to leave her downstairs all the time. She is always with me.

She will be weight-bearing. The splint is to keep movement of the wound to a minimum. Has anyone had experience with a splint, or any ideas how I might be able to get her upstairs? I can't carry her.
