Trunking Alocasia

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

As the trunk continues to grow, between 3 to 4 ft now,the leaves keep getting smaller,is this the natural
way that this plant grows?

Leaves quite smaller than one I have in the ground with no trunk.

In my experience this is normal. If you want to rejuvenate your Alocasia, you need to either heap a mound of soil around the trunk or dig it up and reset it a foot or two deeper in the soil. Hordes of new roots will emerge from the buried trunk and the plant will have a new lease on life.

I have a cluster of A. odora trunks with small leaves at all the growing points, but once this plant had rather large leaves. Same with my Borneo Giant. But when I took some Portora with short exposed trunk and sunk them into soil so the trunks were covered, they really began throwing larger and larger leaves.

Thanks,I'll keep that in mind,I'm just wondering how much trunk will it get to,is it about as big as it will get or will the trunk continue to grow taller?
