Computer setting question

I've got a new laptop that has an annoying quirk. When I'm working in PlantFiles, and have checked off some details, then click on a photo to view, then go back to the details page, I've lost all that I previously put in the details page. My desktop doesn't do this, so I think it's got to be a setting on the computer, but I can't figure out what it is.

Any ideas?
