I was generously sent some seeds of this lovely vine by Denyse in Costa Rica....and all of the seeds have sprouted and the small plants are beautifully healthy. That's the good news!
The bad news is that I have been told they are probably going to be wildly invasive here in Hawaii...so...alas...I will be happy to give them away to anyone wishing them. I would love to send them in groups of 3....3 groups of 3 are available for the shipping. Let me know if you are interested!

Gurania makoyana-available !
Is this something that would grow in DeSoto Texas (Dallas)? Always up for a challenge, girlfriend.
Princess Kilikina
Gee...I don't know. It is a pretty flower and I would love to try it....but you know how it is....! Up for it?
Carol
Where did you see about Louise being killed. I never posted it....
I would like to try some, too.....wondering if it would grow here in Rowlett..???
Carol, just for your information. Rowlett and Desoto are both suburbs of Dallas.
I am south, Rowlett is East.
Truly, if you think they won't survive our climate, I wouldn't want to kill them.
Weatherman is saying it was 102 today, still 101 and will be the same for the next week.

Carol, will you dmail me with details and cost on this one? I am moving to Florida, and would love to try it. Thank you!
ditto what LouC says....if there is no chance...(and from what I read about it, I really doubt it) I dont want to kill it off because of the temps here..
Kris
HI...nothing ventured nothing gained...eh? It grows in very hot Costa Rica...I bet it could make it.
I am game and willing. All I would like is postage.
Carol
Carol. If you have one of these homeless I would love to try them here. PLMK!
Thank you!

It grows in Fairchild's rainforest. So far no sign of seeds. We are in Coral Gables, Florida.
Caren - will plop one in your box....still looking to send that out.
Amygirl...interesting about Fairchilds. Could you send me their phone number so i can call them...ask them what my risks really are?
Carol
Thank you Carol!! I googled fairchild's rainforest and got you this # (305) 667-1651 there is a whole page under contacts but my cut and paste isn't working for some odd reason??
Thanks....!
I can't find this in the PF database, so I have asked for the genus to be added (asuming there are no synonyms.) I found some pictures of the flower by googling images for the plant name. It *is* spectacular. :)

Hi, I actually work at Fairchild. What sort of information did you want about the Gurania? You may send me a dm if necessary.
The question is, amygirl, what is the invasive potential for this species? It looks interesting. The flower isn't so spectacular that I feel like I must have it- seems like an aweful lot of big leaves go with it and the flower gets lost for overall impact. I think this species must have an ethbotanical value from the quick research I've scanned. I am interested. Will Dmail you Carol, thank you.
I am willing to send postage if you are willing to subject your baby to the trip
Kris
No worries....send me a d-mail with your address!
Carol
The plants arrived today in excellent condition....thank you so much. I will let you know how they do here in Texas..
Kris
If you have any of these left I'd love to try, thanks
You have Dmail.
