Hi,
I have seen some photos of japanese streps and I am wondering if they are available for sale here in the US.
Thank you.:o)
japanese streps
I don't know of a specific place, but occasionally vendors offer them. I have a couple of them in which people had sent leaves to me.
Hi Gail,
do you mean ebay?
Heavens no, Spider. I never ever buy on ebay. I just mean all the strep vendors........(not on ebay)
Hmm... I have never seen a japanese strep in the DG vendors list. Will have to look harder. I found lots of photos while looking at streps websites.
The japanese ones look sooo dainty, like little fairy flowers.
If you see them anywhere for sale, please let me know. :o)
You have a dmail.
gail
nothing secret .......just an explanation of ordering strep leaves is a way of acquiring Japanese streps
Hi, Spider - I occasionally see japanese streps on Ebay. In fact, one ended tonight. It was named something like Hotogishu from seller pjsviolets. I just bought Dibley's book on Streps from her and an episcia, and she is very nice. I have bought AV's from her, too, and they are very good plants.
thank you for the tip, Ericabelle.:o)
A really good vendor is Kathy's streps. I have Hotogishu but the leaf was sent to me by a friend. I have heard good things about pjsviolets, too.
I love the japanese streps too.The pictures I've seen are beauiful.I really like the small flowers.Hope they start selling them here soon.
I do, too, jannich.............can't wait for you to grow out the Fleischle seeds.........
Hi, Spider - a seller on Ebay just listed a japanese strep - 'Ako Lime Spirit' from seller alwaysthegarden . You may want to check it out!
Erica

JIM
Hi Jim,
I don't believe we have met. :o)
I ordered 50 strep leaves from Jim about 3 months ago and he sent at least 70 leaves. They are all babies and blooming now. He is a good one to either order from or trade with.
by the way th strep picture is one of mine royal trina
JIM
Jim.............that is fabulous. I would trade in a heartbeat with you, Jim.............but let me get over shingles and we will talk again..............when do you get your first 'too cold' weather to ship?????????
Jim, how can I order streps from you? Do you have a website or plant list?
It's great to meet another fellow strepaholic.
Jim, that is a beauty.
Gail, i didn't know about the shingles. I hope you feel better soon.
Jim, you sent me a leaf with the wrong name...........which is great because this is one of the prettiest blooms I have ever had. Do you possibly recognize her? She has some orange in her red.......***edited to say that she really has the same colors as the one you posted...........but some lighter coloring also
PS>Spider........that diagnosis came this morning with a big rash (LOL)

Spider, I don't want to answer for Jim but I sent him my list of streps so he wouldn't duplicate............then he sends you however many you want. I got mine on ebay from him but it sounds like he does trade also.........i sent him some of mine at the time I got his.......he has great variety

JIM

mrsbonie
I am positive it is not midnight flame as I have lots of them.............mrsbonnie...........I am going to the strep site and look at Happy Snappy..........thanks
Thanks anyway, bonnie. Happy Snappy has some red and pink in it. This one is really orange in person.
Gail,
I swear I have that one and will look later for you but could it be watermelon wine?
Sue
I will look on the Strep site.......I have a leaf of watermelon wine down but no plants...........
I think you are right, Susan! yea for Sue!
WOW I had a brain cell grow...LOLOLOL
Sue ^_^
Hi everyone,
Gail, complex B is very good for the nerves and will help with shingles, especially B6 and B12.
That sure dont look like watermelon wine to me,and If im not mistaken I dont think my watermelon wine was big enough to give starts of,and its too red
JIM
My bloom is really reddish orange...........never seen one like it......
Spider, I have been taking a prescription called Foltx for 15 years......I do believe it is Vitamin B12, B6 and Folic acid. The neurologist started me on it years ago.........you are a good doc!!!
LOL!!! Me, doctor?!?!
Nooo. My father was the doctor. I wanted to study medicine but ended up doing marine biology. (according to my dad, a hobby rather than profession).
I hope you are feeling well.:o)
What a profession (or a hobby) marine biology is. I could never get a degree in the sciences because I couldn't pass the basic biology (LOL).......I had to settle for 'kitchen chemisty' and geology.
Geology is great! I did some during my degree but most related to marine landscape. :o)
Remember the old saying from 1960 (I am not believing that I remember this)...........to memorize the geologic timetable I used this saying:
Campbell's Onion Soup Develops Mighty Proud People That Just Can't Quit....................amazing Gail...........you are not senile yet!
ROFLMAO!!!
Now for the hard part, Spider! Remembering each one and how it is spelled...........not attempt that feat!
