Cedar tree/ bonsai????/NEW HOME?????

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Have a not so young cedar tree that I bonsaid about 3 years ago. Got it from a job site of my DH. Dug it out from underneath the mother tree & brought it home, planted it in the front yard, but decided later wouln't work there!
Meanwhile----said tree had grown!!!!! Still a young tree, I bonsaid it---for about 3 years Managed to grow the tree into the shape I was looking for, with the intentions of placing it into the yard to become a full grown tree with the shape I had formed it into.
Problem now----don't have anywhere to plant it!!!!
Don't want for it to die after babing it for so long & can't stay in the pot it's in much longer. Am looking for a new home fo it!
Have run out of planting spaces for trees here.
Will post pic later!

Why can't it stay in the pot it's in? or be moved up a size? Bonsai is all about purposely reducing the roots and canopy so they CAN be accommodated in small containers, and some reside in small pots for hundreds of years. If you're unsure of how to proceed, you can get help here or from any number of books - library, too. If you want to pursue it & try the root reduction, we'll need to know what kind of tree it is. There are trees with the common name "cedar" in at least 6 genera that I can think of, just off the top ...

Al,

Took you up on your advise, hadn't even considered redoing it. Guess for some reason, I thought it had gotten too large, was never that small to begin with! As I had said previously, it had been planted in the yard for two years before I bonsied it in the first place.
I should have started on it from the beginning but it was only a three inch twig at the time with no shape at all. Before I knew it, it had grown into a two & a half foot tree, didn't know they grew that fast!
Can-not begin to tell you which genera this one is, came from the wild here in N. Florida.
As you may have guessed, have decided to keep it even though it is so big!
This is a current picture of it---will post another after I have redone it as I know not only the roots need to be trimmed but so does the foliage, also have to loosen up the wiring again.
Thank You!

It definitely has potential as a bonsai. It'll take years of training though. I'm not great with ID's either, but I'd say that's a calocedrus.

Well, it's been almost 6 months, tree is still living!!!!
Had tried to bonsai plants before with no success. Didn't help that I didn't spend the time with them that they require, & was still a novice at it. Still am----but trying!!!!
Think Iv'e done pretty good at keeping this little tree alive for the past 4 or 5 years with all of the butchering Iv'e done to it!!!
Maybe one of these days, this will actually be a nice bonsai
