Just wondering if anyone has found a source for organic chicken feed? I really dont like what they put in the commercial feeds.
My son has a web page describing the Black soldier fly larvea (BSF) at growgrubs.com
We are going to experiment with raising some to feed our chickens etc.
They say they contain 45% protein and 35% fat, with a very high calcium content!
I will keep you all posted as to how this works out.

i just feed mine scratch mix with oyster shells and scraps from the dinner table thanks to frans considering getting mealworms from wat she says it sounds realy easy so i might do that
They had 8 ears of corn for 2 dollars at the store--everyone was carefull examining them--I just went for the biggest--when I got home the first one I shucked had a corn ear borer in it. I was so happy! They were all meant for the chickens so I got a nice protein treat for free!
LOL bargain
Catscan, that is too funny! Who was more excited, you or the one that got it? : )
