Can Jasmine Sambac survive outdoors in DFW?

Murphy, TX(Zone 8a)

I absolutely love my jasmine plants, and have been busy propagating them. I have three fairly large now (in pots outdoors), and several rooted but still small and inside.

I intend to keep at least one of them indoors over the winter, but I'd like to plant the others. Will they survive a DFW winter? If so, what kind of prep and care do I need to provide?

I love the Sambac and used to live in Dallas. Unfortunately I did have to replant them every year. I would put a thick mulch on them and they seemed to stay green for the first part of Winter but by the time Spring rolled around there would be no more signs of life.

Hopefully someone will have a sure fire way to protect them, this was posted just to let you know that mulch alone is not enough:0(

I love sambac's fragrant, but they're not hardy here for me either.

You could keep them in pots and bring them in during cold weather. I do that here and haven't managed to kill mine yet, although there's been many close calls.
