Look what my squash did?

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

A bit back had posted that I had problem with a squash plant looking sick and different.

The leaves finally out grew whatever problem they was having and quit wilting either that or they died back, but found only this one guy growing on it.

Went to pick it and out came all the blooms too. The blooms is all fused right into the squash. The white ya see almost looks like plastic and is some sort of tissue where the start of another squash fused itself into the first one and there a third stem fused up into it too.

looks like it was fusing multiple fruit

I agree with jordan. Mine does that every once in a while. If you leave it, it will usually mature into a double squash--two fused together. It's still edible if they both mature at the same rate. If one is small and green while the other is mature, just slice the small green one off and the other is good to eat.

Tripped me out. I have seen tree limbs fuse together and flower stalks and leaves, but first time for seeing fruit itself fuse together. Can't eat it having to much fun looking at it. LOL

I don't know. But I do know it been sitting on my kitchen counter these past few days and til this morning the foliage was showing any signs of wilting at all and actually it still really not wilted bad.

I know with trees and shrubs if the limbs are tightly pressed together long enough they will eventually fuse together, but that don't make sense for the squash because the blooms and leaves are all lose and plenty of room there for them.
