Am collecting Queen Anne's Lace seeds right now, and watching my 6'7 foot high trees of Sweet Annie set seed. If anyone wants fresh cut sweet Annie, e-mail me, I think I can get about 4 nice trades and sent first class, would get there wilted but not moldy. I will need 2 stamps for the Queen Anne's Lace and per/pound stamp for cut sweet annie stalks. These would be the small plants, not the trees!!!!!!!!
Have Queen Anne's Lace seeds and Sweet Annie cuttings
Marcia, What color is your Queen Anne's Lace?
It is the roadside white variety.
Hi,
Will you have sweet annie seeds to trade? The ones I got last year didn't come up. Guess they were duds. Oh, I didn't get them from you.
Hi, you have mail as I am interested. thank you much, DebK
I hope to have LOTS of Sweet Annie Seeds, have a couple of plants that are 6+ foot tall and several slightly shorter ones, if we have the same kind of season that we did last year, I will probably have a truckload of seeds. I just let mine self-seed in the fall, they get the cold that they may need, moisture from WI snow and the bunnies do not like them-they eat my rosesbushes and barberry instead-go figure. I can keep a running list of DG's members names who are interested in the seeds and if Mother Nature is kind, will let you know when they are ready.
Marcia, I'd like to put in for some of the Queen Anne's lace seeds for postage. Let me know when/where to send. Thanks!
Terry
Any sweet anne left? LMK...thanks,
Jen
please put me on your list for seeds! thank you.
Had a brainstorm this morning, it did occur to me that folks may have trouble germinating seeds, especailly those seeds from cold climates, if the seeds do not undergo a period of cold. I will be putting this on my seeds trades, but for reference-fresh seeds going to cold climates may benefit from bing planted in scratched up earth this fall. In the South , a period of time in the freezer, may increas germination. I just let my own seeds fall to the ground, and in WI they get the benefit of a long cold season and the moisture of the snow melt. That may be the answer why some seeds have not germinated. I do not check the books to see which ones need the stratification (cold period) Mother Nature does that for me. Just a thought.
Hi everyone! I am new to this board (as of 15 minutes ago). I have been an avid gardner for 3 years specializing in growing stuff that can be used in dried floral wreaths. Last year, I had to take down a dead tree and in it's place we built a berm - big one. The neighbors watch to see what I'm gonna do. So with my newly acquired reputation to uphold, I do my best to present lots of color and texture.
This year, I did some sweet annie and I have some 7' trees.
I live in zone 6 - When would be the best time to harvest it all. RIght now there are very little seed heads forming on the leaves.
Marcia, I am a new member and discovered Dave's Garden the other day on an Internet Quest for a Sweet Annie source. I was excited to see your postings I would be interested in seeds or cuttings & seeds.
The first time I came across Sweet Annie was at the MOFGA Common Ground Fair last year in Liberty, ME. Great Fair.
I use the Sweet Annie cuttings in the attic and on the cellar stairs to keep those areas fresh smelling. I brush against the cuttings on the stairs when I go by and after a year, the stalks still release scent.
Update. The Queen Anne's Lace seeds are ready to go out, if interested, please e-mail me directly, as I had not gone back in the listings for awhile and was concerned when I did today, that I had been negligent in the keeping up with seed trading.
If you are interested in both QAL and Sweet Annie, , please let me know that and I will set aside QAL and send with sweet Annie when it is ripe. My apologies for being so late on getting back in touch with seed folks . Marcia
