These Polydamus Swallowtail cats are eating me out of house and home. I have cut my calico pipevine almost to the ground. I'm sure hoping they pupate soon.
I also found 30 more eggs and had to take them over to a friend who has lots of pipevine.
I took this picture about a half hour ago:

Wow.
Amazing!!! Sure wish I had some of those here. I have two overgrown calico vines just waiting for a Polydamas to come lay eggs on! Have only seen one Polydamas in my yard and that was a couple of years ago.

I've only had my pipevine plant for about 3 months. It sure didn't take them long to find it. It didn't even have a chance to grow real big.

Gosh terrie, maybe you better go buy another vine and put it in a pot somewhere. When all of these eclose, if they lay more eggs at your house, you'll be in trouble, lol.
I bought a second one a few weeks back, it's still in the pot. I'm using some of those leaves, too. It actually had a seed pod on it, so now that the seeds have dried I need to get some planted. I'd hate to have to buy another one, they're so expensive and usually hard to find at our local nursery. But, I just might have to break down and do so.
I got home from work today and they'd eaten all the leaves and stems and were wandering all around the cage. So, I ran out in the pouring rain and cut some more. Worse than having little kids. lol

I saw all that rain y'all are getting. Wish it would come our way but our weatherman said "NOT" :-(
It rained all around us today, but nothing at our house. We do need rain so badly in this area. Our duck pond at a park down the hill is going dry! Sure home they get some run off from rain others are getting.
Double wow on the P cats!!! Those are so cute. Guess you have done everything right. I would take some to others that don't have adult cats yet. That way they have a better chance to be larger when they pupate.
