No blooms on my Tecoma stans

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

We planted two 1-gal Tecoma stans last June, one next to the front porch and one behind the waterfall of the pond in the backyard. Both plants are in what I'd call full sun to bright partial shade. Both plants died back to the ground last winter but have come back and are about 4 ft tall and look healthy, but neither show any signs of blooms. I frankly can't recall if they bloomed at all last year, but probably chalked it up to just being planted. They get regular watering twice a week (obeying the mandatory watering regulations). I just did a foliar spraying yesterday a.m. with John's Recipe fertilizer which I hope will help.

The Pride of Barbados that is planted near the yellowbells in the front is also a little on the slow side (no blooms) so maybe I need to be a bit more patient??

Okay - I feel just a bit dunce-like; went back about four pages on this forum and saw a thread from someone having same problem. Missed that in my first search-through. I will read that thread carefully but would still appreciate any thoughts.

I do not know if my Tecoma stans are Goldstar but I think there is a good possibility they are.

My Goldstar Tecoma situation is similar to yours except is more shaded and is in East Texas soil. It bloomed very lightly last week and is not blooming now. I may need more sun on mine. I'm hoping we'll both have flowers soon. Happy Gardening!

Thank you for commiserating with me, Antiquedrose. I guess I should be thankful they both have nice foliage and have not fried in this blasted heat we're having down here. Since both plants are tucked into the back of their respective beds at least they're providing some nice greenery. But I sure would like to see some flowers (really lots of flowers!) Sigh.
