Help.. I'm getting holes in some brugs..
Oh noo Gordon, must be those nasty slugs I see munching!
Hi Gordon,
The culprits are right there on your pics. lol. Slugs!!! When we get good rainfall. Slugs are a real problem. I spotted several on my brug's blossom the other day. These slimey pests already ate through the calyx and the flower was found laying flat on the ground.
Hi bugme, we've cross posted. lol.
Hi Lily, guess Gordon didn't see 'em.
Gordon, that must be where they're coming from. Try placing a few pieces of board here and there and in the a.m. check underneath, they usually will be there and you can salt them.......eewwwwwww how cruel am I? You don't want them to destroy any of your pretties and that hib is beautiful indeed.
Hey if you want them to die happy put out cups/lids of beer!
Eucalyptus Spray
1 teaspoon of pure eucalyptus oil
1 teaspoon bio degradable detergent 500 mls of water.
mix well ...place in spray bottle shake well before using.
From the ABC talk back panel.
Good for aphids, pear and cherry slugs, cattapillars and whitefly
Also deters mealybugs snails, garden slugs ,earwigs slaters and ants.
Safe to use on veggies.
I haven't tried it but I will ...ABC is very reputable and very big on organic gardening ...so I really hope it does what they say it does,
my only concern is any possible damage to Angel leaves ...I think you would spray late in the day on hot days.
Awe that pretty Angel chewed by the rotten slugs ...after a wet summer I really am over slugs!
(((((((Chrissy)))))))), there is my garden parter from 'yonder! LOL, how are you doing, how is the weather? How cold I meant?
Thanks for the recipe, biodegradable detergent likes....? I'd like to try out the concoction myself. Thank you mate.
Kim
