We got this sweet little girl on Monday night from the Humane Society. Her name is Lilly. I chose her because although we love our cat we got from the Humane Society last year, Gonzo is not what you would call a lap cat. Lilly is a a lap kitty, very lovable and cuddly:) Gonzo is of course ticked off...
The day she came home she started sneezing. It was mild at first but now it is much worse. I looked in the packet the HS sent us and there was a flyer about Respitory Infection. I was familiar with this, Gonzo had it when we got her from HS but she had been sent home with meds, Lilly had not. I called the HS and they said she didn't have it when she was there and their vet was gone for the weekend. So why was there a flyer saying to remember to give her her meds?
So I called the vet, they were shutting down early on Saturday for some fun day they were doing and couldn't see her but we could drop her off there for the weekend. I told them she just came to her home and I wasn't going to tramatize her by having her spend the whole weekend at the vets kennel, where she probably wouldn't be seen till Monday anyway.
Anyway, so we are keeping watch over her until she can go to the doctor tomorrow. She has gotten worse, now having discharge and being more lethargic. But she is eating and drinking so I think she is okay.
Sometimes vets really make me mad. It is Saturday morning and they want emergency payment when they are suppose to be open anyway? As for the HS, I think they should be responsible for this, it had only been a couple of days... We love her, she is family so we will take care of it of course.
