San Antonio's Japanese Tea Garden

Rockport, TX(Zone 9b)

Husband and I stopped by the newly redone tea garden on the way to the S.A. airport from Rockport for a brief look-see. Very beautiful. We are wondering what the large trees are that have red leaf-like blossoms; there's a big one in the center.. Does anybody know here at DG? I regret I did not have my camera with me.

I haven't had a chance to go there since they had the grand reopening, but you could try sending an email to the email given toward the bottom of the parks site. Hopefully, they could forward it to someone who knows about that those trees. I hope you find the answer!

Thanks. I have sent off an email.

The tree I saw was the fireman's cap tree, according to the reply I got from the Friends of the garden.
