Raspberry leaf tea...

Franklin, NJ

Excuse me if this is a bit personal but...For you ladies that suffer when it's "that time"you may want to try raspberry leaf tea.
My wife came to me a few months ago in tears. She was having an especially bad month. She said she had taken everything she could for it and nothing was helping.I made her some raspberry leaf tea and litterally within minutes she was feeling much better.
She said the pain hadn't gone away completely but it was very tolerable. She has been drinking it for the pain ever since.(What a relief for both of us!)

That's a great tip. Is it just a general pain killer? If so I'd love to use it for my minor headaches.

Red raspberry works as a smooth muscle anti-spasmodic. A "uterine tonic" if you will.

Ok, that might still be useful.

Quoting:
Raspberry leaf may affect infants and is not recommended for women who are breast-feeding. Diabetics should be careful as it might lower the blood sugar levels drastically.

Because raspberry leaf is thought to have a slight effect like the female hormone, estrogen, it should not be used by women who have endometriosis, uterine fibroids, or cancers of the breast, ovaries, or uterus. Men who have prostate cancer should also avoid using it. In extremely high doses, raspberry leaf may cause muscles in the uterus to contract or relax, therefore a miscarriage could occur. It is important to only take what is recommended.

Because the tannins in raspberry leaf tea could interfere with the absorption of non-prescription drugs such as vitamins, you should drink it at least 2 hours before or after taking non-prescription drugs by mouth.

Hello, I started a new thread on this subject to classify this as a Medical Plant thread. If you're interested in a Medical Plant Forum I'd appreciate if you would post here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/883788/

MaVieRose - I think that is very useful information, would you repost it on the other thread?
