eggplant question

Danbury, CT(Zone 6a)

How long does it take for the fruit to get full sized once it starts to develop? For example, the image attached, the eggplant is just starting to poke out. Does it take 2 days, a week, 10 days? Just wondering if I'll be out of town when it happens or not. This is my first time growing eggplant.

Thanks,
Jen

Most of the white eggplant don't get overly large. I have never counted, But I would guess about 10 days from the current size..

I'm back. Went to the Jersey shore for 5 days. Here's my eggplant today. This is lavender touch. I think it will be ready soon.

Every time I've tried eggplant, the flea beatles eat it up. Guess next year I will try the agricloth to keep them off.

Had something gnaw away at eggplant seedlings in the house but a week after setting them out, all was well. Planted them late after almost giving up. Thought if they couldn't make it inside, they wouldn't last long outside. But they are rocking and rolling now:

David that is an impressive crop you've got hanging there! Are those cloud 9?

Jen . . . the white eggplant is similiar to Cloud Nine but it's Tango --a hybrid from DeRuiter in Holland. Got lured into trying it because seeds were 15 for $9.75 . Had to see what a 65 cent eggplant seed would produce. Unfortunately I didn't grow Cloud Nine so I can't compare. Tango is very very good tastewise and the plants are productive but it may be no better tasting or productive than less expensive white eggplants.

jenhill - nice looking eggplants

david - those are some beauties. i grew cloudf nine last seasn and they didn't get very big and i though the teaste was just o.k. nothing to write ome about though.

i find that the white powder called sevin is good against those beetles.
