Harvest is startig!

Here's some of the stuff that Lisa and I picked today.

We're just starting to get a nice bunch of stuff every day. 2 kinds of cukes, yellow squash, zucchini, 3 kinds of eggplant, gobs of peppers, and we threw in some tree ripened apples and daylily blooms for good measure!

Actually, I had two of the eggplants lightly rolled in cornmeal (not the pseudo-sweet Jiffy junk) lightly sauteed in a little olive oil with fresh peppers and onions. I squeezed about half a lemon over it all just before serving...yummmm.

I'll have to try that. First year growing eggplants. Read they were temperamental and difficult to grow. Tango and udumalapet were sad looking as seedlings but once in grow bags and in the dirt, they took off. Need something to go with the tomatoes. It's a jungle out there today:
