This is growing wild at the edge of our driveway, next to a cut over pine plantation.

That is a very pretty picture. It is not however a picture of cut-leaf sumac. Notice that there is nothing cut or lacy about the leaves. I doubt this is Rhus typhina. It certainly isn't lacianata. It is a Sumac though. You should move the photo to ID forum for help figuring out which one.

Yeah I think it may be the species typhina, but not laciniata.
