Wanted for postage: Mother of Thyme

Wanted for postage: Mother of Thyme .

These are not for me but for a friend who is disabled who loves to garden, but doesn't have the means to buy plants. I have been giving him some of my plants , but I don't have any ground cover for him.

thanks for any help

I haven't had time to do trades or postage offers this summer, unfortunately... but I wanted to mention that there are several creeping thymes (including mother of thyme, I'm pretty sure) that can be grown successfully from seed... that's a great way to get a larger amount for ground cover. Also, if you purchase just one thyme plant and put it into the center of a window box planter, it will layer to fill the whole box by/before the end of summer, and then you can separate it into many clumps for planting... that may be a cheaper alternative than getting it for postage at the current rates. :-) See this DG article on creeping thymes for details: http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/1137/

Hopefully, somebody will be trimming out a bed or border and needing to cut back their groundcover thyme, making it available for you... but if not, the above might give you another option. :-)

Please check my tradelist, I have the creeping time that has the tiny tiny leaves and tiny pale pink flowers. I don't have it listed but could send you an eyeglass shipping box full. I have several different ground covers. You might find some others you'd like too. Postage is fine. The picture is of gold moss sedum.
