Yesterday a baby Evening Grosbeak flew into our window and landed stunned on the back porch. I cupped him in both hands for warmth and yelled to my DH to "get the camera". He brought the camera and took over the rescue operation. At first, the baby just sat there, glazed, with beak open, panting.
Baby Evening Grosbeak rescue
What great shots bebop! I'm so glad he was okay.
Thanks for sharing these with us!
What a beautiful bird, bebop. What a relief he was ok.
Major oops! I mistyped this...he is a rose-breasted grosbeak, not an evening grosbeak. Thanks to OldNed for pointing it out.
oohhhh! So cute. Glad you were there.
Wonderful pics and story, bebop. I have these frosty plastic maple leaves on my windows and have had a huge drop in fatalities and crashes here.
What fabulous pics! Where else but right here at Dave's could we be treated to such exquisite beauty and once in a lifetime moments? Thanks so much to DH for rushing with the camera & you BeBop for sharing your experience with all of us. I was especially touched at seing the feather detail and his beginnings of that georgeous Rose breast plate he will so majestically carry in his years to come. Wow!!
YAY!! Another rescue!
That is so sweet, thanks for sharing it.
