Gordon, what a joy to see your blooms!!! They are gorgeous! Clemen
They are all so lovely, Gordon. That Peach Parfait is so elegant and graceful.. I'm REALLY eyeballing that Lugers! Love the coloring and size!
Nice blooms Gordon!!
Very beautiful blooms Gordon. I really like the look of your Peach Parfait.
Dollie
Gordon, I want to see more, please! Clemen
Hi Chrissy! Please post blooms of the Ludger's when they come, I'd LOVE to see what you come up with. What is he crossed with? I'm really getting "into" the mini's.
Oh great crosses! It's good they grow so fast, I'll be anxious to see what you get!
OK... Clemen.. here's the latest to open... it opens white.. a pristine pure white.. and then darkens to a pink..you can almost watch it happen.. the outisde ribs of the pink..showed a bit of green striping.. making it resemble a Sang 's flower.. I couldn't get it to show in a picture as it is real slight.. I remember thinking I have to put it's tag on it... when I planted it ...wonder where I put it...
HI there Dollie... Yes.. Peach Parfait is special to me... a gift from a grower who said she was sending it as I was the only one to send her cuttings last year.HAHA perhaps1/2 a dozen of them.... it hasn't lost a leaf well maybe 2 0r 3 since it came in the fall.. it's had two small flushes so far..and a dozen buds for the next already there.. a perfect brug.. how's your garden growing..
Thanks James...
Bonnie...well you should have LSD.. or another Luger brug.. many seem to be in the yellow family.. do you have any peanut or any of it's smaller crosses
Gordon
Gordon, that last one is beautiful.........they look huge!!!!!
Hi Gordon!!! Good to catch up with you!!! Beautiful blooms you have going on there!!!!
How's that sweet mama of your's doing? I enjoyed meeting Yall so much in Forest Hill!!!
Jeri
Those Lilies! WHAT are you feeding them?? Striking! No Peanut, Antique Lace from a generous DG'er, I need to look into the Luger's family..
Jeri... Thanks... Mother is doing great... she and her twin in Tupilo have ther brugs blooming... here's one of mine.. how are Ya'll doing...
Aunt B... oh everything gets too much... the recipe... nightly... spray-n-grow and messenger every so often... bloom booster twice a week...
alfalfa pellets in the fall to saok in over the winter.. and become part of the potting soil... and I guess my big gun... decomposed and dehydrated cow manuer... gotto watch that though... might never get a flower from the 20' lilies if you use too much.. oh did I mention the new russian hormones... only available in this country from top tropicals.. just have to worry that they might turn hermafordic and flower but never seed..
Clemen.. did it finally turn pink for you... it's starting to happen here girl...
OK.. here's one form the inside of my fence... Gordon
Gordon it looks like my Maya
here it is from the other side of the fence.. yes.. same plant... Dark Rosella... these flowers are ones not seen in the last photo on the other side of it... I'd say 88 of them... bbut what are the buds waiting for... so the other night ..I was out with my headlight on about 2 am.. sitting under Rosella... and there was a flash through the beam... and another ... and with eyes glowing like an orange sun... there was a humming birdmoth.. in and out of there so fast... I can only imagine what their tender winngs must be made of to perform such acrobatics.. anddevelop such speed.. and then to stop on a dime at the flowers opening... it was so funny.. he'd approach slowly... in spurts getting to the flower for the first time... then YES... that's the scent I was following... and then made for each flower in turn...
OH the joys of life in the city... no mosquiitoes... [ well few comparatively ] almost as few as mothers... in North Al.. where she keeps an army oh hundreds of Purple Martins..
Gordon
Does it Phil... that light a bloom opening on it... I can't remember mine.. I hate the AKA's... she sure is a great plant...
well here's another .. don't know if I should post it before it happens... had alot of bud drop to start off on my Hawaiian Double white X L'amore.. but here this other one goes... I'm so happy it is so distended.. [ I'm tired of doubles that drop down to be just one flower .. packed with petals..]1/2 of this lovely one opening ... I just can't wait.. so here it is early..as is my way..
Gordon
whats that to the left it looks like tape a graft? Sprinkler?
Ah yes Paul... I back grafted that plumeria... it spent all of last year inside as it was too big to even flold up with tape and get through the hatch.. you'd be amazed how they put up with the folding... it was about 10' across..so I took everything out and attached one of the many tips back onto it. [ each of the four limbs... or is it three on that one... ] size diffrentals were the hardest part to resolve.. but I tried to get close.. or graft two together on to the larger trunk... I use a bamboo chopstick splint/ held on with electerical tape.. one I did that was oozing sap when it was cut is doing nicely... the other that didn't look like it had any sap in the plant but it was all leafed out.. it's not doing too well... .. they were brought right outside after cutting... it's there getting morning sun.. and making a few leaves..
bet the seeds get there tomorrow..
OK..I cn't not put in a picture ..right..
OMG! I love it! I really love the lil ones! and it's 2nd flush?? Wow! Is it still growing taller?
