Hi,
I just talked to Dave this afternoon while I ordered some Sinningias. He told me that streps need a cooler place than sinningias.
I only have one sun room where I keep the plants. Will it be OK to grow them together?
Do any of you keep them in separate room with different temperatures and humidity level?
thank you:o)
streps and sinningias side by side?
Hi Anna,I grow my plants together.Streps do like it cooler.I put mine on the bottom shelfs of the plantstand(near the floor is cooler that the other shelves.I also have a fan to circulate the air.
Jan, itsn't it too dark down there? I have been ckecking my shelves and, if I put my streps at the bottom they will not have enough light (I think).
I have to get a fan. My sunroom is very, very small and i don't have a ceiling fan there.
Spider: Do you have lights on your stands? I know most of these ladies who grow the gesneriads have lighted plant stands. If you don't have a light on the bottom shelf it probably will be too dark for them. Do you have a windowsill you could grow your strep's in? Preferably an Eastern facing window with bright morning light but not direct hot sun.
Plantladylin,
Yes, I have lights but I never use them. I used to have plants in the spare room under lights but when I moved them to the sunroom I stopped using them.
The sunroom is very light but I am going to hang some lights on to the bottom shelf.
Doh...I should have thought about that.
thank you :o)
Missed this thread, too! Good luck, Spider
Thank you Gessiegail.
I haven't got them yet. Maybe next week.:o)
