Invasive pond plant

Croton-on-Hudson, NY(Zone 6b)

We have a new plant that suddenly seems to be growing rapidly in our 1 acre pond. It is really lovely looking but I am not sure what it is or if it is going to create a problem. I posted a photo in the Plant and Tree ID forum and someone suggested that I post in this forum. The inquiry is at http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=5226692 .

Any help will be appreciated.

I think it looks like it could be Water Primrose.

SUNNYAZ, I'm not sure. According to the Texas Cooperative Extension at http://aquaplant.tamu.edu/database/emergent_plants/water_primrose.htm the Water Primrose has flowers, but I have not seen any flowers on ours.
