Help, Im new to DG and spent hours looking for a formula for alfalfa tea and never found one in all the discussions. Will someone please help me out. A formula with loose alfafa and one with pellets unless they are the same. How long to ferment and can it be used full strength on plants? Are there other fertilizer teas I can make myself to use on veggies and/or perennials.Thankyou.
Alfalfa tea formula, please?
mauisuzi, you might try the organic forum. You might get more of a response there. I have never made alfafa tea myself, but you can also try the search feature. It is on the upper right hand corner of your screen.
The "recipe" & some great information for alfalfa tea can be found under "Guides and Information: Gardenology".

I make mine in a 5G bucket, 4 cups of alfalfa pellets to 4.5G of water. I leave it beside the garage in the sun so I'm reminded to stir it everytime I walk past. I don't put a lid on it. In warm weather it can be ready in a day or two. Once it gets foamy I start using it one the garden and then sit back and watch my plants take off.
