jojoringer take a look at the orphan duck now.

Conroe, TX

Here is that little orphan duck we got from you. As you can see it has grown and feathered and is still a happy duck. It really loves to hang out with our young chickens.

Novinger, MO(Zone 5b)

Wow, I can't believe how much he has grown and changed! I love that his little pouf is getting bigger and I love the color he/she is getting. What a cutie!

uh oh, tf is adding to the zoo!

Christy

Foley, MO

Too cute!! I think ducks are the bomb-diggity : )

Conroe, TX

TF you should just open your place up as a zoo. Charge admission and get the food paid for.LOL

It is a sweety. It tries to eat everything. Loves to twiddle in the chickens feathers. (I call it twiddle, not sure what you'd call it, I guess he is tasting their feathers). They don't think much of that though. The little roos peck at him and the hens just walk away. They seem to not mind him hanging around with them though, as long as he keeps his beak to himself :)

Foley, MO

I like twiddle : ) I can see why you'd call it that. It tickles when they do that to your toes.

Conroe, TX

Oh yes it tickles, and he likes to do that to our toes too.
I told my husband its like a small child that sticks everything in its mouth to check it out. This little duck does that to everything. Sometimes he has a mouth full of dirt because he goes along tasting everything on the ground.

Foley, MO

LOL, I know I'm always telling my kids to make sure they picked up all the wrappers from their snacks so that the ducks won't swallow them : )

Joey in Conroe, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh he's beauitiful! I've been meaning to look for you to ask about him! He looks very happy! I'm so glad he found a good home. Love those marlings!!

Conroe, TX

He is a beauty isn't he. He's a happy duck, loves to forage around with the chickens when they are out in the yard. When they are in the pen he sits right by the fence most the day. He has gotten so much bigger, probably about double when we got him from you. He still likes to follow us around but has gotten more independent and doesn't want to be picked up. My daughter will still pick him up though and hug on him. A duck can never have too much love can he :)
He now sleeps with his pals......the chickens. At night we put him in the pen with them and he snuggles in his corner while they sit on the roost.
I'll keep posting pictures every so often so be sure to check.

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh please do he is so adorable.

Conroe, TX

I got this pic today of him flapping his wings. Couldn't resist posting it. He has gotten quite a wing spread in the last couple of weeks.

He's such a beauty! Who would have guessed that he would have turned out such a unique duck.

Conroe, TX

Isn't he a beauty. The white on him is sooo white, he is just such a pretty duck.
Here is another of him oiling himself after a swim. And he LOVES to swim. He sure can twist around.

Wow he really is getting to be a big boy! Thanks so much!

LOL BTW we made it out alive from WM and after a nap are doing much better ;o)

Conroe, TX

I like this one, you can see the water flowing around him as he raced through the pool.

Those markings around his eye are so neat, looks like war paint LOL

Conroe, TX

Glad to hear you survived. A nap can make a big difference.

Conroe, TX

Well he has to fight those chickens for food. Better look fierce with facial war paint so they get scared. LOL
Funny how the chickens have just adapted to him. And they are his buddies. He seems lost if we don't let the chickens out to roam with him. He will stay right by the pen.

Joey in Conroe, TX(Zone 8b)

I guess thats his flock now, you had better get him a buddy before he starts crowing LOL

Conroe, TX

LOL, No kidding. He tries to eat like them. They eat and don't drink water. He needs to drink water as he eats. He tries to eat without doing it. Such a little rebel.
We better get him one of his own kind soon :) .

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

sounds like the duck fairy is knocking at your door!

Foley, MO

I don't think your duck is a he, looks more like a she : )

Conroe, TX

You think she Patch? We figure "it" is about 3 months old. It does have a more raspy voice but lately it has been quacking more. I love the way it turns its head and looks at us. You can tell the eye is looking right at ya.

Foley, MO

I know : ) I like the sideways "how's it going" look they give ya. Ducks are just sooooo darn cute!

Conroe, TX

The quacking is getting more frequent and louder. Maybe it is a girl.
