Brug babies!

(Louise) Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I thought I would make my first post with my new Brug babies! I got the seeds from Becky in March and planted them out in pots in May ( cold spring). Here they are growing fast and ready to graduate from one gallon pots to five gallon pots. The parents are the same parents as "flirtation". You can already see a big variety of leaf shapes on them and growth habits. It has been fun!

Here are a few more sent to me by Robin. They are white to peach, various crosses. The small one center right was decapitated by me by my weedwacker cord! It seems to be coming back nicely, and if you look hard, even the tiny tip I stuck in the pot is growing! The smaller one on the left side she had marked as "flirtation". So I don't know if it was a cutting or more grow out seed from the same parents.

Those look very nice! I love all the different traits...Seeds in pots? In May? A 5 gallon, already! Great! What do you feed your brugs? These are your first ever brugs? You have a green thumb, a natural! Congrats!

I give them a good dose of dynamite fert mixed in with the MG soil and a weekly dose of miracle grow. So far so good. I noticed when they want repotting they start to lighten in color a bit. I put them in a larger pot and they get really green again. Hope I can find some homes for some of them. I don't want to end up lugging too many 25 gallon pots like you! lol

Lavender, you're not hooked yet! Most of us give in to the urge to own just one more. Then one more..... Then one more.... LOL

Well I have never seen the flowers yet. Not in person anyway. I have admired them through lurking for a year. I got hooked on jasmines that way and after my first confederate jasmine, I HAD to have some true jasmines. I am sure I will be hooked after the first flowers. The mites are making me nervous though!

(AND yes, Louise, I think you are definately a Hottie prospect!) We're just a group of brug lovers, newer and not-so-newer to brugs and life... and we've all met by chance and hit it off, it's a riot over there on the thread...very genuine caring humorous people and you know... HOTTIES just want to have brug fun!

Clemen, Your babies are all doing very well, I think you might recognize that one plant in my last posting. Look to the right and you will see part of the giant sunflower. Do you have a name for that guy? I cannot find it online. I wouldn't say I am a hottie, but I sure don't mind hanging out with people who call me one.
