Sally, have you ever thought about working for a florist just for fun and creativity!!
Aw, thank you! I just have too much fun at HOME!
Happy Birthday Susan!!!!
Hope you had a great day and got to be spoiled rotten!
Dimmer- pass me a piece of brownie, would ya?
I do love brownies more than most foods! Do ya' suppose she is showing us a homemade one?
I don't know but it sure looks good with all the extras added on!
Doesn't that Brownie look scrumptious ... mmmmm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and that fudge sauce on top!
I might just have to bake a batch of brownies tomorrow!
We had some brownies at our last AV meeting and they were delicious. The friend said that she just used a Brownie mix that you buy..........pour half of the mix in the pyrex dish and then pour melted hershey bars over it........then add the rest of the box mix. And..of course, bake. Talk about good and fattening!
mmmm ... sounds wonderful. My favorite dessert besides brownies is called Death by Chocolate! The original recipe called for using a chocolate fudge cake mix which is wonderful but one time I went to make it to take to work and didn't have a cake mix in the pantry so made two boxes of brownies instead. You bake the cake/brownie mix according to package directions, then when cool, cut into chunks and then in a large punch bowl or trifle bowl layer:
cake chunks, chocolate pudding, chopped chocolate heath (toffee) or other candy bars, cool whip, another layer of cake chunks, pudding, candy bars, cool whip. End with the cool whip and put shaved chocolate pieces on top. Amazing dessert! I one time made it using chocolate cake and chopped maraschino cherries, candy bars, pudding and cool whip too. It got so whenever we had some function at work that required each of us to bring a covered dish, everyone wanted me to bring "Death by Chocolate"!
That sounds awesome to me and I intend to try it. Now tell me exactly which ingredients did you use for the ultimate 'Death by Chocolate'? I can't miss this recipe.
Ok Gail, I had to dig through my recipe files to find it to make sure I have it right. Here ya go:
Death By Chocolate
1 box Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix or two boxes brownie mix (make according to pkg directions)
1 cup kahalua liqueor or 1 cup maraschino cherry juice
6 heath candy bars
4 boxes instant chocolate fudge pudding
2 large containers of cool whip
Bake the cake or brownies according to directions on box. While cake is cooling, sprinkle liqueor or cherry juice over cake to moisten. Cut into squares or break into chunks.
Prepare pudding according to package
Crumble or break candy bars into pieces
Layer items in a large punch bowl or trifle bowl as follows:
Cake Chunks
Pudding
Candy Bar Chunks
Cool Whip
Cake
Pudding
Candy Bars
Cool Whip
Decorate the top with chocolate shavings, or chopped maraschino cherries. Spoon into individual bowls to serve.
Enjoy!!
It will fill a large punch bowl and is really, really wonderful! I'm keeping my recipe out to make it for the next function we are invited to where I need to take dessert!
I would think you could pare the recipe down to make a smaller portion but wherever I ever took the punch bowl, it was empty real quick!
Hey Susan ... don'tcha just love it? Your Birthday Thread has ended up a Dessert Thread! Thanks to Miss Dimmer/Kim's picture of that scrumptious looking brownie!

Hey, we are still celebrating Susan's birthday!! Did you confess the number, Susan? TRust me you will be one of the younger ones on this forum.
Oh I don't mind the number as I am glad to still be here... I am a proud 53 years old... Age is just a number and some days I feel 25 and others 100...LOL
Hugs,
Susan
You are a baby compared to me! I have number 66 coming up soon and grateful to just wake up every day (I really mean that, too)
