One of my favorites for its distinctive petal shape
Scent and color are nice but oddities in form endear me as well to any plant.
First blooms on this Epi,

Oh my gosh, I love that DaengSayem! Love that red. They're all great. Don't you just love the flower on epi's? The plant is ugly but at least the flower isn't.

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

This is the first time she bloomed for me
I do lover alot.
I warned her this is year 4 bloom or its the compost heap baby
So she has like 6 blooms now lol!!

I have tons of epis and shes the first to bloom
Daeng Sayem is awesome!
Smells like rootbeer candies.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

That is so cool, I love rootbeer candy!
They say it's good to talk to your plants, you are proof positive!
I have a few epi's but they are very neglected. I have a couple of night bloomers and only realize they've bloomed the next day, those blooms last one night.

I'm with you, Weege - DaengSayem is beautiful - and I love rootbeer! I have two epies getting ready to bloom, too. I really love them and don't mind their odd looks at all.

Now I've got a craving for a rootbeer float! A&W sure sounds good right about now.

Mulberry, FL

Great Pictures I have a few of the epi's too there a couple different colors. Doesn't the flower only last 1 day? Go away for the weekend and you missed it. I'm with you if you want flowers you have to have alot of plants.

Not all the epies are one day flowers. I have a couple that last for several days, especially if they bloom before it gets real hot.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Beautiful pics, Mike. Thanks for sharing them:-)

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

yur walcome ;)

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my. such a visual. you are as bad as I am. Between my adeniums and my plumerias, they certainly take up a lot of space. Do I dare coount how many of each I have?

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

The blooms on the epi last 3 or 4 days so far
I told them to hold out for 10
Well see
Never can have too many heh
just keep piling them higher lol!!
Im on the roof too! lol!

Hey Michael...beautiful flowers and great pictures! One question...how did you get a variegated Theresa Wilder?
Thanks,
Davie

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

The Theresa Wilder was given to me by a forum friend who said hed recieved cuttings from a nieghbor who was pruning his trees and didnt want the cuttings so he gave them all to my friend.
He shared them with anyone who asked.
I asked twice and he has a bad memory so he shipped me 2 boxes ;p j/k
It came from Fla.

I did not know there was a variegated Theresa Wilder...then again there are many things I don't know LOL

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

Any variety of any plant can develop a 'chimera' which is a genetic variance.
Usually it is displayed on a limited section of the plant.
A collector would remove it and propagate it as its own plant to retain the qualities.
Some common ones are 'crowning' and 'variegation'
To promote the variegation keep the plant in filtered or brightly reflected sunlight, never full sun as chlorophyll will develop and green could overtake the variegation. (in some cases)

So its a varegated sport from Theresa Wilder?...very cool!

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

Yup and only 3 inches long lol!
