This is a picture of my roo, it looks like he was posing for this photo. He was one of my first hatchlings from my incubator.

Isn't this pure relaxation?! They love to take a "dirt bath" underneath the bois d'arc tree.

I have no idea what breed he is...I'm guessing he has RIR somewhere in him. I got the batch of eggs that he came from, from a guy I work with. He had quite a menagerie of chickens from what I hear.

He's always the gentleman with his ladies, makes sure they all have food...he clucks away when he finds food for them until at least one of them come running to see what he's found.

I've never had him even act like he was going to attack any of us...my experience with roos in the past is they tend to attack humans at some point in their life, but he's as gentle as they come. (knock on wood).

you have never done anything to startle him or casue himt omistrust you. if you ever have to do treattment with your flock, blood tests, dust for mites, etc, you should pen him up first where he can't see, or it will upset him and he may get defensive...

my roo is a good guy too.
