I LOVE those! The children are absolutely gorgeous, and look at their gardens! They learn so much besides just feeding themselves. I would love to make some of those keyhole gardens. They would be perfect here in our climate and I think they stone walls are pretty and rustic!

Hi Carol, I just found this thread. I loved the video. I think this thread got lost because of the 4th of July holiday. This was worth watching.

Moss Point, MS(Zone 8b)

Very attractive and inspiring. I'd love some in my front yard.

I saw them adding rusty cans to the mix and can testify that they work. I have very iron poor soil and putting old nails or anything that rusts into the planting hole cures the yellow leaves associated with iron deficiency. A cheap fix.

Good idea twiggy. I'm going to try it. New construction left plenty of big rusty nails around.

Now THAT was totally cool. I want one! After the initial building, looks like it would help save yer back :) But how do they get iron from aluminum cans? Maybe I don't understand what aluminum is made of or something?

Pamgarden, keep in touch and let me know how that goes please?

Can you imagine *our* kids actually doing that kind of work? (sigh) Despite their hardships, those kids are better adept at survival than ours would be. Very inspirational!

Inspiring indeed!!!!! GOD bless those dear souls..... I applaud their efforts. Can you see our "citizens" in inner cities giving up their way of life for this? Perhaps WE need to introduce this method to them?
