wow....I have several burgs now and have NEVER had one bloom so much......am I doing something wrong? I'm getting maybe 6 to 8 blooms at a time....

Dan, if your brugs are new and blooming for the first time, the just need to mature a little. Are they in big pots to get lots of fertilizer? Mine ultimately end up in 25 gal tubs. this is Maya last year..

That is a beautiful speciman! My largest is only two years old, maybe that's why.....last year it was half the size it is now...but it seems to be blooming on just one side of the plant.....I'm thinking it's just really maturing for the first time this year and will bloom all over by fall.....hopefully.......I just posted pictures of it on the thread that I started....I've got it in a very large pot...I think you can see it in the picture.

Well, duh, AuntB! I think it is a very nice flush, for a younger plant. I bet it will double in size by seasons end, each flush will produce more blooms.. Pot looks good. Sorry I should have looked closer at the pic... It's a very pretty plant, making a spectacle of itself with all those trumpets!

Taters This plant is 3 years old and I winter them in a heated greenhouse. This is probably the largest flush i have had this early in the year, I normally don't see this until late August.

Gdan patience and lots of fertilzer, I plant into the biggest pot I can squeeze into the greenhouse in the fall. Starting about the beginning of March we up the temperatures and start a constant feed of 20-20-20 and also a top dressing of slow release 14-14-14. When they go into the garden they are planted into a mix of composted manure and topsoil and given a weekly dose of liquid feed.

Wow, that is a nice nutritious diet you're providing. I wish I had a source for the manure (lot's of sources for manure just not the composted cow kind) lol and you really get a jump on them, having the greenhouse. Nice! My Maya was 3 yrs last year, honestly, I counted the faded blooms as I removed them, I stopped counting after 1,000. This spring I repotted cut and trimmed, so I haven't had her first flush yet, but I'm getting the step ladder and a magnifying glass out today, there's just got to be buds starting up there.. lol
