When going in search of a new "baby" which is better to start with...one that is taller or one not as tall but has "y'd" (rooted tip cutting)...please and thank you for everyone's help while I learn about these beauties.
Brugs size....
Chantell...
Oh personally.. I guess I'd go for color.. about any other aspect of form.. you can change or develop in the first year or so.. The above the "Y" cutting might give a flower earlier than any other .. but soon they will all have caught up there.. where you are you'll be able to grow most any of them.. to most any form you desire.. a long cutting might give a standard form sooner.. if that is your desired form.. but you can get most any to have this look in the first season or so...
That said about choosing for color.. and perhaps fragrance.. some of the most fun for me is growing out from seeds.. no guarantee on anything there.. but you have the excitment of a new brug all together... with perhaps an idea as to the color .. and after a few months of early growth and adjustment... you'll have a plant with a great deal of viggor and growth drive that can easily be formed to your visions.. it will be adjusted to your conditions and placement.. and be kicking in with strength and will perhaps flower sooner than some tall cuttings.. which might have more of an adjustment period to over come.... but taking time out of the equation.. go for what you want to see... there's time enough available... till there is none left ..
Gordon
Wonderful explanation, Gordon, as always!!! Any opinion on which would flower sooner?
If you want blooms fast you need to get one that has already Yd since they will NOT bloom until that has happened.I know when I first started color was not as important as that first bloom, after that you can collect as many as you can and keep your favorites. HAVE FUN.

Thank you, Doris. For me - scent is first...then of course my mind goes to photographs so 2nd would be the bloom 's form/shape...then color of course!!
