This one opened whilst I was on holiday, nice to come home to
B X Flava 'Amethyst'
What a beautiful bloom! If you ever decide to sell some cuttings, dmail me - this one reminds me of Rosamond, which I lost - it's a gorgeous pink.
Kay
This is a B x Flava and I'm in the UK, guess you can't receive plant material from me?
Thanks for the nice comment :-)
Oh, that is so pretty (so are your others). I wish I lived on the same continent.
Linda
That one is a beauty, like the way color goes all the way up the bloom.
Gloria
Perfect :)
Wow that is so beautiful..............James
A British Brug! Lovely!
James, nice to see you back. Did you get my dmail?
BOING! WOW! ... I love it! The shape, the texture, the COLOR is to die for! We want some over here!! Congrats!
Yes I did thanks so much...................James
That one is sooooo incredibly stunning!
Alan, I am drop-dead jealous!
I NEED to see more of your blooms!
When there are more I will post.
Its VERY wet and windy here in the UK and all my plants are getting BATTERED :-(
Excited about what 'our group' can produce.

Hurstwood...Lovely flower there... great color and form.. I've a few questions for you..
did you grow it out from seed..
at the top you wrote it's B x Flava Amethyst... then you said it was B x Flava
was it a Brugmansia crossed with a Flava named Amethyst
or is it a Brugmansia crossed with a Flava and this particular result was named Amethyst
is there no better information on the "B" as to which Brugmansia this Flava might have been..crossed with..
will you try crosses with your flower there.. what might you consider as a plant mate for yours there.. pollen to cross your flower with.. or use it's pollen for other crosses..

This was a cutting of 'Amethyst' which is a B X Flava. I don't know the parents.
I have dusted this flush of blooms (first flush) with 'WildFire' 'Lilac' 'Rosa Lila'
'Sanguinea' 'Arborea' and an NOID Vulcanicola, covering all options and all my pollen.
I have also dusted all the above with 'Amethyst' pollen (except the Sang. no blooms quite open yet)
Thanks for the interest
I need to find lipstick in that color :P
Wonderful.. Thanks....just what I was wondering about.. I'd like to know what succeeds and what doesn't with your efforts ...as they develop... I'm as excited to know the pollenation success...as I am to see this next generation of yours flower... best of luck there..

Baby... and the matching perfume... my my ... what beauty...

They don't get much more perfect!!
Congratulations, you did it!!
Bonnie
What a beauty!
Good try Liz! (Somehow I don't think he'll fall for it though) I won't resort to such trickery - LOL - since they won't grow in the hot dry Southern California Climate.
Liz LOL
Its funny because lots of people have offered to dispose of this plant.
Eric K even offered to cut it in to tiny pieces and bury them in compost,I declined :-)
Thank You all for the nice comments
Alan
Alan, I just keep coming back to look at it! It's almost toooo perfect! (you sure it's real?) lol The color is terrific!
I lean more toward those beautiful white double brugmansias, but like AuntB I just keep coming back to look at this beauty. Your photo would make a beautiful oil painting Alan.
Lol, Eric can cut it into about 8 inch pieces and send it my way.
