Pet sitting for the summer-Any advise?

Hello, I currently do not have a pet. (except the goldfish in my lil' pond). But we are searching shelters to see if we find a dog that needs a new home and clicks with us. Recently I found a couple who needs a home for her dog until Sept because she will then have an apartment that accepts pets. They are now living with her mother since just moved to this state.

Anyhow, I thought this would be a nice opportunity to see how it would be to have a dog in the house. They are coming to my house with Stryker, that's his name, to meet us and to see where he would be staying.

Anyone here has done this before? Or what do you think overall. What question should I ask them? And should I also get to see where they live?
