We have these beautiful birds every summer. Last year they nested in a nestbox on this pine tree. This year they decided on this hollowed out limb. Sadly something must have got the babies as there hasn't been any activity at the nest site in many weeks. Here's one of the parents on the limb earlier this spring.
Great Crested Flycatcher
Very nice pics bird! Those little ones are very sweet!
Sorry, I was trying to post some pictures I had taken of a great-crested but it didn't work.
What size do pictures need to be to post here? Thank you for any advice!
crazy - I am a newbie here so can't help you out much. All I know is I clicked on that browse button below this text box and chose my pic/s from my file location and hit send. Your pic then appears.
birdfinder, what utterly beautiful birds. I haven't seen these ones before in my wanderings through the various threads. Thanks.
I love your photos birdfinder, especially with the babies looking out!!!
Nice pics crazy!
Thanks Resin...I was wondering why my links didn't turn blue like yours did?
Birdfinder, I tried doing as you stated but the pic wouldn't upload and I assumed it was because they were too big.
I'll keep trying
Nice shots of the Crested....I love these birds, I have them here in the winter and spring, I last saw the pair about a month ago.
I was wondering why my links didn't turn blue like yours did?
DG has automatic formatting for links, if you just put the link in, it works without any additional stuff. But the link does need spaces or carriage returns either side; yours didn't work because of the [img] codes confused the auto system ;-)

The great crested flycatcher was the bird that started my interest in birdwatching, when one nested inside our prophane gas take hood. They where ware we could easly sit out side and watch. They did not mind us at all. It was very interesting to know that they alwas try to have a shad skin of a snake in the nest.
I just heard (and then saw), my Great Crested Flycatcher pair, so they must be year-round residents here.
