Why are my Texas Star Hibiscus growing so slowly? These are seedling that I would like to have bloom before the end of summer. Is this possible?
Why are my Texas Star Hibiscus growing so slowly?
Mine are growing slow but will stay blooming tru August usually.

They will bloom if you put them in a bigger pot or in the yard. Pot is too small.

Really, you think so huh! OKay!
It is probably the flash but it looks like they could use a bit of food too.
ardesia, what do you use for plant food? I have been giving them some 6-12-6.
Hi Dean,
I have several in gallons that I have started from cuttings and they are all blooming and about 4' tall. Give them a little iron or magnesium this will help the growth portion of them. Epsom salts are good. I want to say off the top of my head 1 tlbs per gallon of water. Get a good run through but make sure you water them first before you apply. Just give it a good shot 1 time a week for 2 weeks. This should get them jumpstarted. Also on the fertilizer try a general purpose Miracle Grow 24-8-16 or something like it if it is available to you. I use a peters 20-10-20 but it is usually not available in stores. Ardesia may have some better suggestions than I do and she is very experienced at it ;-)
Good Luck,
Robert

HaHa, my experience only has to do with longevity. When you get as old as the hills you have been doing things longer - but not always smarter.
Robert is the pro, I'd follow his instructions.
Thanks you all. I do have some Epsom Salt and some Miracle Gro (24-8-16).
Isn't it wonderful that Epson Salts is good for things other than soaking feet.LOL
