CLOSED: Have: Franklinia Tree - Franklinia alatamaha - Cutting

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I have a healthy strong shoot coming from the base of my Franklin Tree. It's a perfect size for rooting. I'm hoping there is someone interested in trying to root this. Franklin Trees are extinct in the wild. You can read about the history here:

My tree is 4 years old and registered at Bartram's Garden. The blooms are stunning.

Here's the entry in plant files. You can see pictures of the blooms.

I'd be interested in trading for a cutting of another small tree hardy in zone 8, such as dogwood.

I'd love to trade for this. I have -Nishiki Willow, Dappled Willow Salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki'- or I can send cuttings from my red twig dogwood. The whiteflies do not like these plants. thanks, julie

Hi!
I'd love to trade if the cutting is still available. I can send cuttings from a variegated dogwood, rooted red twig dogwood, and possibly a rooted white or pink blooming dogwood. I also have dogwood 'aurea' cuttings and that one is a beauty. The foliage is such a nice bright chartreuse.
I have other things as well.
Thanks!
Dawn

Yeah, I couldn't resist clicking on this thread even though it was closed, LOL... I'm glad to see folks growing and propagating this lovely little tree! We always kept an eye out for it whenever we were near the Altamaha River... and one day, I'm planting one of them here! I just have to figure out a way to lower the pH in a corner of our yard... :-)
