When I put my ducks in tonight I noticed one of my ancona ducks neck looked enlarged on one side. Enlarged are was about mid neck to around the shoulder area. They were outside in their kiddie pool for most of the afternoon, no I do not think he got into anything. These guys are still young. I think around 4-5 weeks old now. I tried feeling the area, its very soft, that fatty feeling that ducks have! It seemed like when I pushed on this area, the duck made almost like a burping sound. Can they get air that stays in this area. I did notice that before I put him away, he looked like he was trying to regurgitate something. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Could he have gotten into coarse grass? Sometimes they get impactions when they are young. I know with chicks there is someway to put them upside down and massage the mass out.

He is doing better today. In general he has a thicker neck than my other ancona duck. Everything looked even today, so who knows, could have been all between the ears!
