Ok, I have 9 turkey eggs in the incubator. I got them from my hen and was not absolutely sure hoe long she had been setting. I've had them going for 2 weeks. I candled and took out the ones that were clear, leaving the 9 that I have now. Something smells. How do I tell the bad egg? I am assuming that they are about 21 days along.
I had a bad swan egg explode on me in my old incubator, I'd really like to avoid that experience again.
Something is rotten in the incubator
I think if you can't tell by candling--and I know that is hard with turkeys--that you are suppose to sniff each egg and look for signs of dark drops of fluid on the surface (due to pressure). Good luck!
They all smell like a turkey's butt to me, but at least there are no drops of fluid. f nothing happens within a few days, I can figure that they all are bad.
LMAO, how do you know what a turkeys butt smells like? really, can't you candle them? or feel the density. get a scale, and weight them, the one that weighs less is the bad one...
good luck!
LOL....I was going to say the same thing.....how do you know what a turkey's butt smells like? Then again, maybe I don't wanna know....LOL
Hope you find the rotten one....Good Luck!

Never taken care of a injured turkey in the house have you? I like the idea of weighing them!
