I know it's silly, but I miss my chickens while I am at work. So the only solution was to set up a chickencam (thanks to my wonderful BF who did all the work). Now I can watch them while I am at my desk at work, and of course check in on them when I am out of town. Here you can see my girls Soup, Salad, Sandwich, and Schnitzel when they are not being camera shy: http://chickencam.linksys-cam.com
For those of you that were so helpful with information on chicken integration, Schnitzel is doing great. Though she still doesn't really have chicken friends, the others don't harass her much anymore, and she doesn't hide in the henhouse. In the meantime I am her pseudo-chicken friend, and we hang out while the others play in their little click. Thanks for all your help and input.

Check out my chickencam! and update on Schnitzel
How cool! I want one!
Any more visits from the fox?
I understand about missing your babies--I didn't want to go to Brazil last year because I would miss my dogs too much.
No visit from the fox that I know of, but I have no faith that he isn't touring the coop every night looking for a way in. I ordered electric poultry netting and it just came, so I am looking forward to setting it up tomorrow. I have this vauge recolection of thinking about what cheap easy pets my chickens would be. What planet was I on?
Anyway, I am very much enjoying watching my girls while data crunching at work.
BTW, hopefully I'll get you some data soon. My boss has been riding me so I haven't gotten much chance at work. Then early Sat. morning as I was thinking that I had a couple of hours to go in and work on it I got a call from the barn. It seems that my horse was found hopping on three legs at the corner of a busy intersection. Apperently she crashed through the fence and wandered around the block for whatever reason. She seems ok now many stitches and much distress later (and a huge vet bill), but my weekend didn't quite go as planned. My chickens are looking so great by comparison these days.
