I have a year old cockeral who started displaying lethargic and almost trance like symptoms 7 days ago. He was eating and drinking as normal but not crowing. He appears to be getting back to normal, however, one of my hens (18 month old Black Rock) has started displaying exactly the same symptoms today. She is not egg bound and is eating and drinking a little.
Any ideas what the problem may be? Any advice would be most welcome!
Many thanks!
Advice needed - lethargic chickens!
I can't imagine. It might be a mild viral disease. How is the rooster doing? Have any more of the chickens shown symptoms?
TingTong, is it possible he has worms?
Karen
One of our roos was acting lethargic and just sitting the other day, not even eating and drinking and had his neck drawn in and eyes closed most the time. He was like that all day and by that evening he was moving about. The next day he was acting normal. We have no clue what was wrong, but maybe yours has something similar.
make sure their is no mold in their feed. look for other symptoms...
here is a good list of symptoms with possible diagnoses...
