I went to a garden party....

East of Nacogdoches, TX(Zone 8a)

...the ET RU, and it was (is) lots of fun. We left early but other attendees are sure to fill us in later on the rest of the afternoon. We were just amazed over the quality and volume of plants brought out for the giving/trading. DD and Dave went over the top making everyone feel welcome and the site of this event was a treat all by itself. If anyone is shy about attending a RU, just remember the community of gardeners by nature is a warm and friendly bunch. See ya'll next time.

Gilmer, TX

antiquedrose, I missed telling you good-bye. When I came back you were gone. It was great meeting you and I look forward to next time.

I missed telling telling so many "goodbye and thank you" and of course wish we had so much longer to sit and plant chat. Open garden here, if anyone is ever in my area feel free to d-mail...I'll put a pot of coffee on:0)

Cofee.........now how could anyone pass up coffee and plants^_^. Had a wonderful time, really good to see old friends, and meet some new ones...wish the trip wasn't so long and I could have stayed later. I think I can speak for us all, when I say "Kudos Dave and DdeTex!" Y'all done good!!

I am glad I decided to make it. I was blessed by my family of DGers and hugs and smiles more than the wonderful plants I brought home. TY all for the hugs and concern and generousity of sharing.

I will be back.

"eyes" you exceeded my expectations with the hug that was and still is priceless. You are much more than I ever dreamed.

All of you...I love each one of you.

Be Blessed,

Winnsboro, TX

I'm glad someone else is having problems remembering who was who. I have so many that I would like to write a SPECIAL THANK YOU too but I'm old and forgetful and can't come up with the names at this moment. So I'll just say you all made my day very special and I can't wait to do it again and spend more time with you.

If we have a RU around Easter I can hid the eggs and hunt them too.

Antiquedrose- I did not get to visit much with you at the RU as it was a bit crazy. So glad we had the Friday night visit. Great to see you and Larry. Come back again and I promise to get down to your place too.
We go back a long time but "that's Galveston".

To all of the others, the only down side to the RU was not having time to know each of you. Do not know how we make it so there is more talk time and less craziness. Guess we all have a good case of OCD that kicks in at RUs.
Need to remember that people are more important than things.

Oh we do remember that people are more important. The biggest problem I have is I love to visit so I spend too much time with the ones I get to talking and laughing that I don't make it all the way to everyone. I love to talk......did anyone notice....... ;o) *blushing*

I do love all of you very much even if I have never posted to you, seen you in person, traded with you or got to speak to you. My heart overflows with the same love you all give me and I know we all want to meet and talk even if no plants involved, but we need at least 365 days worth of hours in 1 day.
There is never enough time for all my family here at DG. Just know I love all of you and want the best for each of you and pray one day to have at least hugged each one of you one time.

Blessings,
Sandy ^8^

Humble, TX

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did! It did seem to go by so fast and I only got to talk to about half the people there. I wanted to see Emma and DD's gardens, but I was too busy looking at the orphans on the sidewalk to get directions. Hopefully next time.

You better believe the pleasure was all ours, David. Good friends, good food and a stroll through beautiful gardens. Why, it doesn't get any better. And thanks for the plants. Talk about a door prize!
BTW, Larry just reminded me of your rocking his and my DD on our porch swing 21 yrs ago. My. My.

Spending the night nearby at the Rusk Railroad Park is something I'd recommend for everyone traveling into the area to consider. We found it nice and quiet and it was great to get up and travel 11 or so miles on Saturday. Or, we could just crash at DD's the next time!

The pic includes DD all grown up.
