Orienpet dropping buds

My big orienpet lily bloomed profusely last year. This year there are three stalks and very healthy-looking leaves but as the buds get to be about 1-inch in length they wither and drop. All of my other lilies are doing fine and I have a lot of buds ready to bloom. What is going on??

It might be thrips. I had them attack just the buds on my orientals one year so the buds fell off but the rest of the plant looked fine. They're tiny and hard to see. If you put a piece of paper under the bud and tap the bud you will see little tiny dark specks on the paper. I used insecticidal soap twice a day for a week and that worked for me.

Also check on water level. Mine do that when it gets too hot and dry.
