Don't encourage me Erynne...bad enough I have to make a trip to the lily farm...

Blyth, ON(Zone 5b)

Erynne, you are a bad, bad girl! I'm supposed to finish my landscaping before I buy any more plants. Oh well, c'est la vie :-)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I'm doomed. They have alot from my list that are on sale.

Orangeville, ON(Zone 4b)

Sorry but I felt obligated ;)
I want the Heliopsis 'Loraine Sunshine'.....cool foliage ( plus a few other things).

I want too many of the plants now on sale :-) I *almost* created a shopping cart before common sense prevailed and I closed my browser connection to the site. I am sooo weak!

Orangeville, ON(Zone 4b)

Lol @ Ginny!
I'll have my moment of weakness tonight with a little cuppa beside me and a quiet house. My gardens are so empty and few more lovlies won't hurt none. That's what I tell myself anyway ;)

Have a great weekend!!!!!

I'm going to *try* to stay strong! You have a great weekend too Erynne.

I wont even look!

This morning, since I was out and clean ( havent got into the garden yet!) I went down to Greengate ( local garden centre, get 12% discount on plants) to look for something to put in some small pots I 'forgot' about. As I was leaving with a tray full( found what I wanted and more of course) I ran into the owner talking with another friend and I said to her Peggy if you ever again see me in here with plants ( this year) please call security and eject me from the store - without the plants! She said but I am happy to see you here every day - with plants! I responded Thats a lie Peggy I am only here once a week!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

LOL fancyvan. Maybe I'll put a trip wire across McLeod Trail ^_^

Blyth, ON(Zone 5b)

LOL Aren't we all just a sad bunch - no backbone at all!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I resemble that remark.

I tend to talk myself out of a great many things and I think it's because we have four youngsters to think of first. But when I do give in, I usually hear myself say...."what the heck, I'm only going to live once so I might as well bloomin' enjoy it!" Not like I go get gussied up at the hair dressers or buy shoes or purses or make up, yada yada. Plants are my treat as well as a few craft things.

Blyth, ON(Zone 5b)

Well! Have I got a treat for you! A way to *combine* your love of plants and crafts...

Have you checked out this new forum yet? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/tinygardens/all/

I can feel a whole new passion coming on :-)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Isn't that just the cutest? I've been thinking about it but then again one big h*a*i*l*s*t*o*n*e could take the whole thing out sigh.

Orangeville, ON(Zone 4b)

Ginny, I did see that forum and am seriously pondering a mini garden project at some point. I have about a dozen fairies around here too that would be fun to use as well as miniature items that Gary's mom gave me from when she was into doll houses. Some things would be fine outside but true about that hail dahlia; enough of it could wreck the whole thing. I think I would like to do something using mini Hostas.

Oh yes, mini hostas would be very nice.

I was thinking of incorporating a fairy garden into a new garden train layout. My DH got me a new locomotive that I've been wanting for about 4 years. I'll try to get a picture of it posted sometime this weekend.

Here are a couple of photos of my new locomotive - Olomana. Isn't she sweet?

Doesn't this just cry out for some type of fantasy themed miniature gardenscape?

Phooey!!! I was outside having a grand ole time in the garden....temps down, overcast, minimal mozzies.....and wouldn't you know it.....rain! Back to my rainey day activity I suppose...painting, blech.

Your train is sooo cool! Ok, you're gonna have to take a pic of the whole train garden in action cuz I wanna see! Is it possible to get an aerial shot of your train garden like from a painter's ladder? I know I ask alot, haha.

I went to Canning Perennials yesterday. I tried to get DH to take me to the hosta place in Aylmer but he wasn't willing to go that far so Paris it was. They were out of Heliopsis Loraine Sunshine but had several other things on my list. The place reminds me alot of Whitehouse Perennials in how they are set up from where the cash is set up to where the plants for sale are located. Plus they have extensive gardens beyond that. Very nice place and people and most importantly, all of the plants are a picture of health. They had quite a steady stream of customers too!

Welll, must get on with the painting. Back in a while.

Yeah, we got rained out too. Took the opportunity to go and buy some more mulch and take a load of weeds and such to the dump.

LOL I don't know if I'll actually make much progress toward the new train garden this year Erynne. By the time we finish the back landscaping, the sunken patio, and cleaning up the existing train layout in the octagon - including damage from vole tunnels - that will probably pretty much take care of this year. I will try to get some good overhead shots of the one in the octagon for you when it's more presentable though.

While I was reading about your trip to Canning Perennials I was a little envious that you live so much closer to them than I do. Then I realized that if I did live closer I'd be perpetually broke and I'd have gardens planted so closely that you'd need a machete to see any one thing!
