Anemone biarmiensis

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Hello. Looking for this plant for realtor who has been helping us so very much. She has 3 in her garden here in Madison WI, but the wonderful nursery isn' carrying it anymore.
Does anyone have one for trade (I have a wide range of hardy-zone 4/5 perennials); or a referral to nursery would be great.- esp in US so to avoid the paperwork.
It is 8-12 inches tall with lemon yellow blooms on tall stalks and originated in the gravel areas of Russia.
Any help appreciated.

Well, you know, since she has the plants already she could actually start more plants from seed herself, with the seeds from those plants...
As it sounds like you want to give her a gift, perhaps you could start seeds for her (from her plants, if it's not too late to collect them), or failing that, give her a membership to NARGS (where she could get seeds for many other interesting species) or SRGS or other alpine societies (assuming that's her interest). Just a thought....

Hi, can check with her about starting plants for her. She is late 70's and doesn't have the set up for plants.

these folks appear to have what you want http://www.backyardgardener.com/mttahoma/tahoma3.html but I don't know anything about them

I assume you already checked at the Flower Factory?

Yup, storms were crazy. We live on a steep hill, with tri-level retaining walls on both sides of the house made out of huge field stones. Wind picked up both heavy metal lawn chairs and sent them down the hill taking out my russian sage, crushing most of the coneflowers, and landing on top of the ground cover roses. I can't even find my strawberry pot, but I assume it is down the hill somewhere.

Oh drat,, can you cut back the sage and the rest. I think that you are probably right about the strawberry pot. I picked up one small branch,,looks like we were really lucky!
I was able to find the site and somewhere on dg--either the Watchdog or the one that does "local" companies..anyway it has six + comments; so passed the information along.
Thanks so much;.
