My boss and his girlfriend are having an open house party. I want to get them a thoughtful but inexpensive gift and know nothing of their decor. Doubtful they need anything. I was thinking about nice wine or martini sets, but they have all that and more. Any ideas?

Maybe a nice tree or plant if they have a spot for it. It's a gift that keeps on giving. Especially a fruit tree.
Attractive bird feeders and some seed? Artsy weather gauge (wind, temp, rainfaill)? Decorative windowsill herb garden? Stepping stone with their name on it? Artisanal natural salt and a pretty grinder?
I like the fruit tree idea too, but you'll need to know the site requirements and if it can fit into their existing landscape or not.
