Is this odd?!?

Shepherdstown, WV

My hoya chlorantha recently threw out about an 18 inch bald vine. I was looking at it for the first time in a couple of days (didn't mean to ignore it, but a sinus infection took over my life for a couple of days!) and almost at the end of the bald vine is a peduncle that already has wee little buds forming! Is that odd? Or normal for some hoyas?

Kelly,
I think its normal. I have a fungi and a publicalyx doing that now.

Hoya australis does that a lot too. Often in the fall vines without any leaves will start blooming from new peduncles.

Yup, totally normal. Nearly all of mine do that. The ones that don't are the bushy ones.
