Injured Bird

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

This scared me to death. It hit so hard there is jelly on the window I have to go out and clean off. That is also jelly on the bird...I don't think any of it was blood...

I helped it get out of the blocks which are sitting right below the window. I know it is an Oriole but..juvie or female I am not sure. It was kind of small.

Once out of the block it sat here on the bottom part of the fence for several minutes...breathing hard. This shows the right side of it's face and also the left leg...any idea on it's chances being okay???

As it's breathing became more steady it flew up into the tree

My camera battery was going dead...in fact died completely after this shot. I really hope it will be okay. I am going to get some stickers for this window...we have had several strikes now, just most are not that hard!

I hope she is ok! Yes, I bet you were scared to death! I would have been also. GM :)

I hope she will be okay, too. Sounds like she stunned herself. Flying up into the tree is promising.

I sure hope so...Had a mama oriole and baby show up later but I don't know if it was the same ones, so the positive is that I do have baby Baltimore Orioles!

Am going to the bird store tomorrow to get the window stickers for sure!
