Or should I say stirred up? LOL I bought these gnomes last year (or was it the year before?) and was going to make a gnome garden, but lost interest when my to do list got really long. After seeing the threads on this new forum, I am inspired once again! Here are some things I bought today....except for the gnomes.
Look what you all started! ;o)
Hi mgh! I too, have become interested. May I ask where are you finding all these great things? The store in this area give me weird looks when I ask for the miniture section. lol
Hi jsxtiger! Yes, I was given many strange looks today too. LOL Although, the first nursery I went to is where I got the plants and the gazing ball. They were very helpful. I went to 2 other nurseries.....bought the rocks at one of them, and the turtles at the other......and found the flower pots at Michael's Crafts.
The gnomes I bought off Ebay. This is the seller: http://stores.ebay.com/Newgumpas-Gnomes He is very friendly and a super Ebayer.
Thanks for the info. I will check him out.
Wow, that is a nice haul.
Now we need (well, this part of we, anyway) names of those plants...inquiring minds and all that.
Jackie
Nice haul, mgh!
Wow! Great haul, indeed!
I see you got some blue star creeper. One of my favorites!
I am jealous you found an erodium. I've been looking all over for those :0)
What is the name of that tiny tree. I love it! And, what is that plant kinda in the middle right of the first picture?...miniature dianthus?
-T
Thanks everyone! Here is a pic and a list of what I bought. I added in some other plants that I bought a few days before.

Middle row, left to right:

Creeping Speedwell (Veronica repens)
Seedpicker, I can pick up an Erodium and send it to you, if you would like. :o)
Mgh-wow, thank you for a detailed list of plants on that picture. I've never seen that particular thyme in bloom. It is really pretty!
I'd love to take you up on that offer!
I can swap tiny plants or sedums that you haven't gotten, yet? Or do you need any of those "bricks" sheets? I can pick those up at the craft store...
Watch out on the viola...I have that one topping my brugmansia pots, and I absolutely love it, but it can really grow and take over your mini landscape...
Here is a pic of it right now in my brug pots. They are currently spilled completely over the edge of the pots, and are now "running" on the ground, lol
WOW! I just ordered two fairies! I can't wait to get them to start a new tiny garden. Love your goodies you bought!!!
Thanks Sally! Can't wait to see picks of your mini garden when you get it going. :o)
I would love some of those bricks, Seedpicker! Thank you! That viola sure has taken over! The leaves get a lot bigger than I thought they would. I'll just have to make sure I keep it under control when it is in the mini garden. Sending you dmail now.
mgh - Please post a photo when your Mini garden is completed. I sure would love to see it! Looks like it is going to be downright adorable!
I will definitely post pics of the progress, Becky. My DH ordered the galvanised pan the other day....they said it won't be ready until the 4th....and I bet they'll be closed that day. Anyway, my DH is going to build a frame for it, so I will probably have to wait until that is done to start planting. In the mean time, I'm just going to keep collecting things! LOL
mgh, thanks for the informative plant picture! I think your mini garden is going to be great with those plants! I want to see photos of the finished garden, too!
cute stuff. and you got a LADY gnome too. i always wondered why you never see lady gnomes and how they make more gnomes without them. maybe you just never see them because they're in the kitchen canning all the produce the man gnomes oversee! :o)
LOL! This series of gnomes has a couple different lady gnomes.
This one is a little risqué: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rien-Poortvliet-Gnome-Taking-a-Bath_W0QQitemZ370057107153QQihZ024QQcategoryZ60214QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 but I think it's cute.

I really like this one too: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rien-Poortvliet-Gnome-Dancing_W0QQitemZ370059558907QQihZ024QQcategoryZ60214QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
I'm pretty sure there are others, but that's just a few to show you what they have. :o)
adorable! and she's such a fun and happy lady gnome!
Risque nothing! I like this little guy.

Cute tools, Mendy.
Thanks, Moby!
Oh my, bradh616! He's really cute....a little too big for my garden though! LOL I'll have to keep my eyes open for something like that in my scale.
Thanks Pixy! I will definitely be posting pics as I progress with the mini garden. We just got the planting container for it the other day, but DH needs a few days off to build the frame for it. ;o)
Well, my gnomes and I have been looking on the net for some things to go in their garden, but I had to tell them I just couldn't afford what we were seeing. They really loved this one: http://yhst-4107290884353.stores.yahoo.net/t7216.html but it was just too much. Soooo....my DH told them he had some balsa wood they could use. This is what they came up with today. It's not perfect, but they sure are glad to have somewhere to sit. ;o)
They said they are thinking of trying something like this next: http://yhst-4107290884353.stores.yahoo.net/azd1520.html
Soooo clever those gnomes!! I can just hear the tiny hammers/saws, etc.:)
Mendy-
That arbor is great! Your hubby is good at that! My hubby has skills, but being "handy" is not one of them :0)
The expression on the female gnome's face is precious :0)
You have such industrious little gnomies! Fine work they do. ;)
you did a great job, mgh. keep going.
that line of gnomes is so personable. love it.
Thank you everyone! Yes, I just love these little gnomes. I ordered 6 more of them the other day....can't wait for them to get here.
Seedpicker, sshhh...don't let the gnomes hear me, but I'm the one who helped them with the arbor while DH was building the stand for their garden. ;o)
Oh, ...well great job that YOU did!
Impressive!
Mendy, did you make that arbor or did DH?
Good Job either way!
Thank you!
Hi Got2! I "helped" the gnomes build it. ;o) Ok, yeah, I built it. DH was working on the table for the mini garden when I was working on the arbor.
When are you coming to get the boys? What are you still doing at home? LOL You can see the mini garden and the arbor when you get here!
Thank you Pixy! Yes, it was really fun to make it. Yes, DH is getting in on it too by building the garden table for me. He has it about half way finished, but it's hard making time to work on it. We're going to my parents to help paint their house, so the mini garden has to wait.
I went to a hobby shop yesterday and bought some different wood to make a bridge. I'm just afraid this balsa wood won't last very long if it is kept outside. I bought some Mahogany and some Maple, but it will also have to wait till we get back. This is the bridge I am using as a pattern: http://cgi.ebay.com/Miniature-Garden-Bridge-Fairy-door-Gnome-door_W0QQitemZ350065845625QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
